Food For Funds

Evergreen Ice Sports, in an effort to raise funds for essential supplies and support we need to feed the helping hand everyone requires from time to time has been employing a concession stand crew at every Winter Hawks and Blazers game. There are other special events and shows as well that also employ these stands, which are located in the Rose Garden and Memorial Coliseums. A percentage of the funds earned by our stand are donated by Ovations, the company in charge of these concession stands, to our non-profit organization. EIS takes a small administration fee out of this amount and the rest of the funds are divided up between the members of the crew that worked. After the funds are divided they are deposited into each individual’s Evergreen Ice Sports account and can be used by the individual with proper proof of their ice sports related expense. During the spring and summer seasons there are also stands available through Centerplate, located at PGE Park, which provides a similar program for those who stay active all year.

These opportunities have helped many who have come upon hard times to make that extra support needed to help keep their passion alive. Without this many people might have had to give up what they love, which in America no one should have to do. With that said, next time you are at these locations and plan on being hungry, you might want to ask ahead of time which location is the one that sponsors these individuals. That way you can hit two targets with one arrow and help someone’s passion stay alive.
